Big News!

Posted by Dana at 9:10 PM 6 comments
Sorry I have been so awful about staying caught up here, it seems that we don't have enough hours in the day!

We are doing great, fantastic, really! I have some big news....... Trevor is going to be a big brother! Can you believe that??!!!?? We were in shock when we got the news this week. I felt kinda funny, just off and I should have known looking back that I was pregnant but I really thought I was getting a bug that was going around school. I got a test just to make sure (because I was late a few days) and we got the shock of our life! A brother or sister for Trevor!!! It took a few days to sink in, but we are ecstatic! The shock is starting to wear off and I am really enjoying it, even though I feel kinda poopy already. Since this is the last time I'm going to be pregnant, I'm going to enjoy every second of it and not worry so much like I did with Trevor. I'm not sure how far along I am, I go back to the dr. on Monday for more blood work (they did a hormone check on Wed. and it was perfect)-they just want to make sure the numbers are going up like normal. But no worries, I KNOW everything is perfect, I just feel it. Such a difference this time :) I think I'm due at the middle/end of May, which will be perfect with my school schedule. Something else that is perfect is that Trevor and the baby will be 18 months apart, I love that they are close but far enough away to be in different stages at the same time. I am sooooo excited!! Guess I need to change the name of my blog now, don't I???? :)

Just wanted to drop in and get all caught up!

We are doing great. Going back to school has been a flurry of mixed emotions, I miss Trevor so bad that it hurts but I also love my job so much and it makes me so happy that it isn't too bad. I think he is happy being back at school, he has a little friend who is a girl and they are so cute together. When they ride the bye-bye buggy they hold hands. Ladies man at 8 1/2 months old :)
Kent is feeling much better, he is still really weak but other than that he is doing well. We went to the highway 27 yard sale last weekend, it was hot, but I got some good buys. I bought some things for kitchen re-do and an amazing hand made skirt. I really wish the girl who made my skirt had a website, you all would be amazed! Speaking of yard sales, our neighborhood sale is this weekend and I'm going to participate this year. I just have SO much to do before Saturday, nothing is priced yet but I think I can knock it out after Trevor goes to bed this week. I'm going to recruit Kent to help me :) We just need to get rid of so much stuff, it is amazing how much you can accumulate in such a short period of time!

Last Day at Home...

Sigh......

Today is our play day! I am doing nothing at all today except playing with my baby boy. We are going to play in the floor, I'm going to chase him down the hall (his new game....scooting away and laughing as we chase him!) and we are going to ride his baby 4 wheeler miles and miles :) As sad as I am I have to realize how lucky I am to have had all summer with him!

This morning he had cantaloupe for the first time and he loved it! We have been experimenting with lots of solids since he can feed himself and chew so well. Pasta is still his favorite but I think cantaloupe is going to be right up there! I think we are going to try some whole wheat toast with cheese this weekend. Ahhh....our little boy is growing up!

-Loves to go 4 wheeling....he loves his little baby 4 wheeler and can scoot himself...backwards!
-Is weaned completely :( but is doing great on formula
-Loves Molly and Bay, he loves to 'pet' them (pulling on their collars and feet :) )
-Can pull himself up on things
-Loves to drop things from his high chair for us to get....we are so trained!
-Has tons of hair and still has the most beautiful blue eyes!
-Loves to play peek a boo
-Is such a happy, low maintenance baby who hardly every cries!
-Is the center of our life, I can't even remember a time before he was here!! :) :)

Our Little Boy....

Has decided to wean himself :(. He just isn't interested in nursing anymore and screams every time I try to nurse him. Sigh. I have been feeding him bottles and he eats his formula like it is the last bottle he is ever going to get. I am happy that he is happy and satisified, but on the other hand it is the end of that relationship for us.....our little boy is growing up so quickly!

Speaking of growing up quickly, he is almost to the point where he is crawling up on all 4's! Now he scoots himself around like a little crab and is into EVERYTHING! Last night, it took him about 10 seconds to scoot to his toy bin and flip it over. Another target of his last night was his bookshelf, the contents of the bottom shelf was spread across his nursery in less than a min! How can someone so small make such a mess so quickly?

It is back to school time! You all know I get kinda excited when I see the school suppy aisle...my obsession this year are Sharpie pens.....LOVE them! I have mixed feelings about going back to school this year. Obvisouly I would love to stay home with Trevor all of the time, but I also love my job so much that it isn't so bad to go back. I think I am also ok with going since he likes his school so much and enjoys going and that makes it so much easier for me. Only little over a week left and it is getting up at 5am again...ugh!

Oh, and Kent doesn't have rocky mt. spotted fever.....he has Lyme Disease!!! He is still feeling awful and the dr. said that it could be up to 21 days of antibiotics for the symptoms to go away. I feel so bad for him, he is just miserable right now! At least he caught it early, it can get pretty serious if it isn't caught early!

Here a tick, There a tick....

Everywhere a tick!! Kent has rocky mountain spotted fever from this little guy! When we went last weekend and rode our 4-wheelers (while MIL kept Trevor-no baby 4 wheeler riding :) ) he got bitten on the head by a tick. He noticed for the past week he felt kinda off, like he had the flu. Well, yesterday he felt REALLY bad (not going into details....use your imagination here) and I finally convinced him to go to the doctor. The dr. did blood work and said it was either Rocky Mt. Spotted Fever or Lyme Disease, but prob. RMSF. He had to send the blood work off for a definite answer but he put him on a round of super antibiotics to treat the RMSF! I feel so bad for him, he feels AWFUL and of course being a stubborn man...went to work today! Ugh, how many times have I got bitten by a tick and never gotten a thing, poor Kent just has the worst luck when it comes to catching things or hurting himself!!

Our beautiful hardwood floor is in....boxes in our house :). We got it delivered yesterday and I LOVE it! It has to acclimate for a week before we can put it down. It will really be the last week of July for us to get it in, we have SO much to do before we can install it. I am SO excited, now I need new sofas to go with the new floor.....and of course a new dining room set.... :) :)

Trevor and I are going to a consignment pre-sale party today! One of my friend's niece has a little boy and she invited us over to go through the clothes she is going to take to Just Between Friends next week. My friend says that almost all of his clothes are barely worn...I am SO all about buying stuff at consignment sales, I am a bargain hunter and if I pay $4 for something instead of $10....it just makes it so much cuter to me :)

I shed a tear...

Yesterday we were putting up some of Trevor's clothes that he has outgrown and it was just....heartbreaking! He is such a big boy now and his newborn clothes look so teeny in comparison to him. I can't believe that just a year ago we were finding out that he was a boy and now look at him! It is bittersweet because I'm not exactly sure we will have anymore kids and it is like a chapter of my life is over, newborn time is over. But on the other hand, it is such a joy to see him grow and I love this age so that does give me some comfort. Ahhh, our kids will be in college before we all know it!!
