According to my MIL....

-I don't feed Trevor the right cereal (he hates the cereal we feed him)

-I make him cry and she is the only one in the world that can soothe him

-He NEVER cries when she feeds him, only when I do

-I have spoiled him because he reaches for me when she holds him

And in general I am a terrible mom......Ugh! Can you tell we spent time with the IL's this past weekend? My MIL was getting on my last nerve, honestly she was driving me CRAZY, it was like I couldn't do anything right. I think she was showing off because Kent's aunt was there also and she was just letting me know my place, kwim? I am OVER it and it will be a wintry day in hades before we go up there for that long again (2 days of HELL). Ahhhhhhhhhh!

Sorry for the vent, I just had to get it all out. Ok, better now :) :)

I am having vacation envy right now. Everyone I know is going on vacation in the next month or so and this year we aren't going anywhere. We are really focusing on the house-putting in wood floors and re-painting the kitchen-so I am happy with that. BUT, I do have vacation envy, I think I like the process and anticipation of going on vacation just as much as getting there. I have this insane need to go to the beach for some reason and I am not usually a beach person (alot of sun + me = lobster). Who knows, I think it may just be a need to get away with my little family and relax somewhere that isn't home! Pass the sunscreen please.... :)

Have you ever had buyer's remorse? I am so there right now....when my purse got stolen, I ordered a new cell phone (LG Envy Touch). Kent ordered a new phone too, the HTC Droid Incredible. He tried to get me to get one too, but I thought I wouldn't use all of the apps and it would be a waste for me. I am SO in love with his phone! He took these pics. last night and uploaded them to flickr in 2 seconds. Ugh, ugh, ugh! Oh well, I guess I can just play with his phone for the next TWO years until I can upgrade....sigh. :)

Today is Kent's birthday! Trevor and I went and ate lunch with him and I made him a dirt cake a while ago. Tonight he has softball, so we may head to his games it depends on how hot it still is. Trevor is napping like a champ right now (he has been down for almost 2 hours), he was a sleepy little guy today! We are working on him putting himself to sleep, I am trying to break my habit of rocking him asleep....it is such a hard thing, it is our bonding time but he does need to be a big boy and learn to go to sleep on his own. I don't want him to be 14 and still need his mom to rock him to sleep :).

This weekend we are going to look at hardwood floors for our house! I am so excited, we are finally getting hardwood through the entire house (we have it in the kitchen right now)!! My head is spinning with all of the choices we have, I know I want a dark wood but there are so many variations! I'll make sure to take tons of pics once we get it all down!

Our week was great. My mother in law came down for a few days....it went well. I had to make the Dr. rounds (just check ups) so she kept Trevor. One day I took him to school and I went to work for a few hours and I got a pedi (ahhh...mommy time!) I think he really missed his class, they said he didn't nap all day and played and played. I am so glad he likes his school so much! Yesterday, we went to my friend's pool and swam for a few hours. Trevor loves the water, I think it really relaxes him-he fell asleep sitting up on a float (I was holding him of course :) ).

This is our first father's day weekend! I hope that we make this as special for K as mother's day was for me. We got him some Alabama shirts and we are having a big luncheon tomorrow for the whole family. I am loving not traveling this weekend, having a baby is awesome because people come to you :).

Trevor-isms At 6 Months!

Well, he is almost 6 1/2 months but close enough :)

Trevor:

-Rolls over both ways

-Scoots across the floor

-Gets up on his knees and tries to crawl

-Can feed himself the small Gerber puffs

-Can hold his own bottle (we are training on the sippy cup)

-Has 4 teeth in and one more that we can see under his gum!

-Says "dada" and knows that Kent is dada

-Tries to wave "bye-bye" but just flings his arm around :)

-Is still nursing on demand but eats solids twice a day

-Loves his paci now (ever since he began teething, we can't get it out of his mouth)

-Is inseparable from Poo-Bear (a little blankie with a poo bear head on it-he is hysterical when he doesn't have it at bed time!)

-Sets up all alone

-Loves to play on the floor with all of his toys (he plays so well all alone)

-Loves Molly and Bay-he pulls their ears and grabs their noses!

-Has a little attitude when we try to put him somewhere he doesn't want to go (ex-he will grab onto our shirts and kick his legs when we try to put him in his exersaucer and he doesn't want to go....ugh! :) )

-He is super curious and will get everything and stick it in his mouth!

-He loves the camera and will stop what he is doing to get his picture taken.....think we take tons of pics of him??

I could go on and on, but these are the highlights :)

Beep! Beep!

Well, I guess you can tell that we got the Expedition! I love it! It is an Eddie Bauer edition with everything you can imagine on a car....even bun air conditioners! I had no idea that they made seat coolers! We got a great deal on it and we bought it from some really great people (I have known the woman we got it from for 3 or 4 years) so I am super happy. I just look for places to drive now :) I have already ordered my Alabama window cling for it!!

We are settling into our summertime routine really well now. Trevor is on a schedule and I am loving it! I like the predictability of nap time-I can get some stuff done around the house. When he is awake we just play and play together! I want to get him a little baby pool, I think he would really enjoy that-he is CRAZY in the bathtub! I just love being a mommy, it is so much fun!

Father's Day is coming up and I have no clue what to get my dad. Dads are so hard to buy for. Trevor got Kent two Alabama t-shirts and we will probably cook him a big dinner that day. But my dad and Kent's dad....ugh! So hard to find something for them!

I will have to do a Trevor catch-up post tomorrow, he can do so many things now...Jeez, where is our little baby??
